Question:

What advertisement websites to use to find a USED CAR in Thessaloniki?

I'm a foreigner living and working in Thessaloniki, Greece, and I'm interested in buying an inexpensive, used car.

I tried checking www.Craigslist.org, but I think this website is not very popular in Greece, and there were almost no postings. Do you know what other websites or newspapers I can try to search for a used car?

Thanks! :)

  1. You can buy the local classified ads paper "Aggelioforos", it's quite popular. What I know from experience (I've bought 3 used cars in Thessaloniki) is that you should follow these steps to buy a good car at a good price:

    1) Take any car you want to buy to a garage mechanic of your choice and tell him to check for mechanical problems and most importantly if the car has hidden marks of a crash that harmed the chassis.

    2) Check the used car dealers (I know many are located at Egnatia street and also on the way to the airport)

and do a research on the market, knowing that the prices there are usually about 1000-2000Euro higher than normal(even after a bargain they are still more expensive), that their cars must also be checked and that the kilometers indicated on the car are not always the actual that the car has endured, so don't fall for any car 4 years old or more with 20000km .

    3) Keep in mind that the best deals are made when buying from an individual that has the sign "ΠΩΛΕΙΤΑΙ"- 'for sale' ,and you can bargain for the final price.

    4) Don't buy a car with 70.000 kilometers or more, if you plan

to keep it for a while. It might cost you more eventually.

I know that most women just find a car they like and buy it, but if you invest your time, you can only benefit in quality and price. Good luck!
