  1. Physiologically they may feel better but from a medical viewpoint it won't cure anything.

There's no such thing as a "Miracle Cure"

So I suggest they save the cash and use it on something practical to improve their lifestyle.

  2. it has to be a tremendous experience, i talked to people who said the atmosphere by the location of our lady statue is unreal.

    how about Jerusalem ?

  3. Lourdes is very moving as you go through the grotto, see all the placques thanking Bernadette and Mary for healing all kinds of illnesses and see all of the crutches hanging in the church...it's a beautiful place.

Bring lots of money for cheap souvenirs.  Mary shaped water bottles and flashing altars are my favorites!

(Seriously, it's very moving...until you move past the terrace w/ the churches and see the souvenir shops...but you've got to have some fun so get something cheesy)

  4. I have been to Lourdes. How you feel depends on you and your faith. Some people feel miraculous, others nothing. However, the most striking thing for me were the many sick, ailing and aging people who have made the travel in search of healing. If anything, it extended my compassion for my fellow human and gave me grace for the health I have.
