I want to move out with my boyfriend, I would like some advice on finding a home to rent and a list of ideas such as things I should purchase and things I will need once I find a place to live, ex. kitchen- dishes, silverware...etc. Just a list of basics, and maybe not so basic things that will make the move and new adjustment easier.

  1. WALMART Cheap for all your new home needs  !!!! An Save as much Money as you can !! Good luck with Moving !! :)

  2. wait till you have a lottttt of money

  3. Why give up a good thing? Oh well you might try hitting the garage sales for stuff your going to need.

  4. First advice: BE CAREFUL

Second: when you buy things don't share the price. I mean that you will buy  p.ex. the TV set and he will buy the microwave. Sounds bad but if you "divorce" you can "split" them.

The list depends on your needs, it's a little personal. I will need at least :

a two rooms flat (or house) and

    a freezer (and deep freezer),

a cooker (eclectic or gas or both) with oven and grill

    a dishwasher,

    a microwave,

    a TV set

    a hi-fi or a CD player,

    a double bed

    a table with four/six chairs

    a closet

    a desk

    a computer

    dishes/cutlery/pans/casseroles/glasses

    sheets/blankets/pillows/pillow cases

    towels

    food storage boxes

    a phone set

    some illuminant

    a rag or a carpet

a sofa and a small table for the living room

    some book selves

    some pictures or paintings

    curtains

    a curtain for the bathroom

    ashtrays

    some disks for serving food

    a wood/knifes for meat cutting

    some salad bowls

    e.t.c.

  5. Make sure you have steady income to support your living on your own.  Don't settle on the first available apartment within your budget you find, shop around, it's a pain to move and then move again because you're unhappy with the place.

Try to get as much furniture used or secondhand.  (craigslist.org is GREAT)

Get a good set of silverware and some durable plates and glasses.

  6. Ok i would say....That Person should Move out at around 19 anyways....So move out then but if your parents dont want you too thats there problem because You are grown and you can make your own decisions....

but if you want to move with your boyfriend thats your choice so you work that out with him...

  7. I don't intend to put a damper on your plans, but make sure that you can afford the rent on your new place by yourself.  That way, if there is a breakup and you get to keep the place, you don't have to move back home with your tail between your legs.  And if one of you loses their job, you will be able to get by on the one income.  As for kitchen supplies, do like some of the others have said....get as much as you can second-hand.  Go to Goodwill, hit the yard sales.  Think about what you know how to cook and want to cook and get the things necessary to do that.  Don't forget the little things like a whisk, can opener, measuring cups and spoons, hot pads, dishtowels.  It's really surprising how little you really need to set up basic housekeeping.  A couple of dishes, forks, spoons, knives and mugs along with a frying pan, a 2-3 qt pot and a saucepan will get you started and you can add on as finances allow.  now this is really basic...once you get started, the list can flow on for half of forever!
