Question:

What affects the sound of an acoustic guitar?

I have a guitar and when I strum the strings it gives me a flat plain sound. I don't know if its the strings or not. I heard that the type of wood changes the sound of the guitar. Is that why some acoustic guitars cost more than others?

  1. yup! I have a Ibanez pf (about $250) boast's a solid spruce top and actually plays very well for what it is and I love it,

but as far as the way it sounds it dosent even come close to my Guild d55(about$1700) and it has a solid spruce top and cherrywood back and sides, but it's constructed a lot different, and it's also made in Tachoma WA. rather than China. I think WA. spruce must be better than Chineese spruce, Hummm.
