I have noticed in places like India some people are light skinned while others are fair skinned. I have heard this is because of there conditions they grew up around and environment, is this true?

  1. Well that would depend on your parents. If one is dark and one is light you may turn out somewhere in between. And of course staying out in the sun will make your skin a darker tan color.

  2. I CAN NOT SAY. I AM BLACK MY 1 SISTER IS YELLOW THE OTHER SISTER IS BROWN. AND IT 7 OF US WE HAVE THE SAME MOTHER AND FATHER THAT ARE LIGHT BROWN.IT MIGHT BE DNA.

  3. it has to do with genetics.  what your parents, grandparents skin color was is what the child will have.

  4. It is a combination of inheritance from your family, environmental conditions (tans or not), and physical well being (healthy vs. not).

  5. First of all, DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) . And also, it has something to do with your "melanin" which is from our melanocytes. Melanocytes can be found in our epidermis in Stratum basale, and it is responsible for the pigmentation for hair and skin. Black people are rich in melanin (why?). It's in their genes. And white people are not rich in melanin, because its also in their genes. However, "some" white people are rich in pheomelanin, which is responsible for freckles, it can be carcinogenic.

    Hope it helps. :D
