  1. in my state they charge a pretty penny for preschool  it is different than piblic like a day care they do have head start but you have to be low income

  2. You would have to check with your local district. Most districts that offer a preschool begin around age 3 (and potty trained) and do not charge...if they do it is very little. Now, there are private preschools that charge a little more but may take children as young as 18months. It all depends on your district and wnhat they actually offer.

  3. That all depends on the licensing requirements. Some centers are licensed to take 2-6, others have stipulations like 2 and potty trained. Some centers only take 3 and up. Look around at eh centers you are interested in, visit them, make a decision, then use that as your base as to when you should place your child in preschool. If you are not in need of child care, I would not recommend putting them in any earlier than age 3. And even at age 3, only 2-3 days a week. Work up to the 5 days by the time they are pre-k (the year before K).

No preschool is free in California unless you are on government assistance.

I hope this answers your question.

  4. You're apparently differentiating between daycare and preschool, right?

Private preschools (about $500 per month for three days per week, 9:00a to 1:00p) typically have a minimum age of 30 months (2.5 years) and potty-trained.  Except in low-income areas, free public school typically begins at age five (kindergarten).

With a few exceptions, part of the preschool tuition is tax deductible.

  5. 3years

  6. It depends on the license so you would have to check with each individual school.  Some school districts offer no /low cost preschools, but you have to show financial hardship.  If you are a stay-at-home mom, you should look into a co-op preschool.  they are usually inexpensive since you have to volunteer to work in the classroom.  How often will depend on the individual school.
