  1. You can begin weaning them from the doe(female) when they are 4 weeks old. Do this gradually  by removing the doe from the cage for a couple of hours a day(3-4) Then keep adding an hour til she is no longer in the cage with them. At 4 weeks the kits(babies) will begin to nibble on pellets and hay. Do not give young rabbits (under 6 months any fresh foods). Make sure they have access to fresh water.

At 8 weeks they will be completely weaned from the doe and ready for their new homes. Make sure you seperate the kits by s*x at the age of 8-10 weeks. You do not want any accidental breedings to occur. At this young age pregnancy can kill a doe.

When you send the kits to their new homes give their new owners a small bag of the pellets you feed so they can gradually switch the kits over to a new food.

Or tell them what brand of pellets you feed.

Good luck with your new kits. Make sure you check them everyday to make sure the doe is caring for them. Make sure they open their eyes by day 14, they should begin opeing them around day 10. If not open by 14 days they can end up blind. When they open their eyes you can clean ou the nestbox and line it with fresh hay.

  2. They need to be at least 8 weeks old or 2 months. Make sure by that time they are eating well on their own before you try to place them.
