  1. 18.

  2. In England you can go into a pub at any age (unless an over-18s bar), your allowed to legally have one drink with a meal from 14. Otherwise it is 18 to purchase and consumer alcohol.

Under 14s are not allowed in the bar area of a pub, ever.

  3. any age before 9 i think then 16+ after nine (thats Ireland anyway)

  4. Pub = Public House anyone can go in...its just 18 to buy alcohol

  5. depends if it sells food or not,but you cant legally serve alcohal until the customer is 18,but if the pub serves food you can buy soft drinks.

  6. A lot of confusing answers here but lets try and give you a definitive answer.

Under the Licencing Act 1964, it is illegal to be in a bar if you are 13 or under. You maybe allowed in a pub but not the area which is licenced as a bar. (a snug or lounge still falls under the description as a bar)

There are exceptions to this obviously, the most common is if the child lives in the pub and/or is the landlords relative, i.e. grandchild, nephew etc. also since the early 90's some pubs have applied for and been granted child licences which means that children under 14 can be in the pub but only upto a certain time.

That in the main answers the question, lets address some of the points that have been raised by others

It is illegal for a child under the age of 5 to be given alcohol by an adult without a doctors prescription!

this means that a 6 year old child can effectively drink alcohol legally, just not on licenced premises. (this focuses on the legal responsibility here not the moral responsibility)

As to serving alcohol to people in licenced premises who are under 18, the resrtictions in the 1964 act are as follows:

A person aged 16 can order and consume beer, wine or porter with the consumption of a meal in a restaurant. Other than this, the age limit is 18

A public house does not mean that anyone can go into it, the pub is deemed to be the licencees home under English Common Law and they have the right to refuse entry or rescind  a prior invitation on to the premises at any time for any reason which they do not have to divulge.

In some areas there maybe local bylaws that can be in force which brings extra restrictions into play. the local authority will be able to tell you what those might be

  7. Any age with an adult.

My auntie used to run a pib & when i was 11 it was illegal to stay in the pub after 7.

  8. it depends on the country.. I'm guessing European? 18 is legal to consume I believe

  9. any age

to get served, usually over 16

    legally 18 lol

  10. 18

  11. You can go INTO a pub at the age of 16 but you mustn't try to purchase or consume alcohol until the age of 18. Obviously other rules apply to so-called "Family Pubs" but the alcohol bit still applies.

  12. for the uk

If the pub serves food and has a child licence there is no age limit, however children must remain out of the bar section and the licences normally have time constraints. Only Children over 14 are allowed in the bar area. And you need to be over 18 to order alcohol

  13. as soon as u look 18
