What age can your children start establishing credit?

Like a secured credit card and so forth .....to help establish their credit for later? Thx

  1. when they are no longer children - age 18 - you could add them to your credit card as a user - but don;t let them know that and never let them actually use it - then, so long as you maintain good credit, they will build credit history too, so it will be easier for them to get decent interest rates when they are ready for credit on their own

I would have to say 18.   there are two ways you could start credit one or them is taking out a small personal loan which you might need a parent or an adult to co-sign for you meaning if you do not pay the loan they will.
