  1. I agree with Christina, my daughter did better with oatmeal, and she started at 4 1/2 months.

  2. At 3 1/2 months. She was going through formula so fast I had to just to stay in budget.

  3. You should start your baby on rice cereal at 3 months.  Unless the doctor recommends earlier.  My son had acid reflux so he had to put on it before he was 1 month old.

  4. a couple days after her 4 month checkup. She was 4 months & 12 days then. Started on rice. Became constipated. Changed to oatmeal. She likes it better and does better with it. I recommend starting with that.

  5. I used to put a little cereal in my kids' night time bottles...just enough to thicken it up at about 2.5-3 months.  I just used a nipple with a bigger opening so they could suck it easier.  It filled them up and they slept through the night.  And there was no weight problems...my daughter is now 13 and a twig....son is 11 and has an athletic build...no ill effects.

  6. I gave my son cereal for the first time when he was about 3 months old.  he had been sleeping through the night for almost 7 weeks and then all of a sudden started waking up to feed again during the night! We started the cereal after almost a week of the waking, and it helped him sleep through the night again...thank god! most people dont start cereal until 4-6 months though!

  7. 4 months old.

according to my son's doctor, your baby tells you when they're ready to start eating foods such as cereal and other baby foods:

*they hold their head up on their own

*they open their mouth for a spoon (never force it in)

*they dont push the food out of their mouths with their tongue

*they show interest in food when you eat

my son hit all of these at 4 months so that's when he started eating them. Now he HATES all types of rice cereals and I haven't given him oatmeal or the grains because I dont know that he's ready for that just yet (he's 6 months old) But we'll see....

  8. I started mine on baby oatmeal when she was 6 months old.

  9. Three months

  10. 3.5 months

  11. 4 months old.

  12. 4 months but he never really liked that gruel.

  13. its is recommend if you formula feed to start at 4 months but if you breast feed to wait till 6 months. I b.f and started him on cereal around 5 months. But when to start is really up to the parents and how well the baby can hold their head up and sit up.

  14. 4 months.  There were no problems.  My daughter was way above the 98th percentile in height and weight, and was sitting up.

Others may tell you cereal is "fortified wall paper paste," but most people would disagree.

4-6 months is the recommended time to start your baby on solids (you'll have your crowd that insist 6 months), but you know your baby better than they.

  15. I tried at 4 months but he pushed it out of his mouth. So, he didn't really start eating it until 5 months old.

  16. 3 months. It was ok by the doctor

  17. about 5 months.
