I am 19 and I just enrolled on a Travel and Tourism course, after 2 years at college, I think I have finally found what I want to do. So instead of going to Uni next year I will go in 3 years time after I have completed my course.

Is it too late?

  1. i havent been to college yet but i think its around the age of 17-19

  2. If you die between now and then it will be too late.  Otherwise, go for it.  I was 18 but there were plenty of much older ppl at my school.

  3. Well, I started going part-time at 13, and then full time at 14. I think it has less to do with age so much as when you are ready to put in the effort needed for the classwork. If you are motivated, it's never to late to go to university.

  4. I started at age 23 because that's when I was ready.  That's the important thing, no your chronological age.  Congrats on deciding firmly on your major, and good luck in your studies!  PS I did very well in college.

  5. Nah, its not too late! I was 28yrs old when i finally got around to going, did the marriage/kids bit first!! And surprisingly i wasnt the oldest by a long shot, and a good proportion of the students were over 21 (anyone over 21 is classed as a mature student!)

So don't worry, if anything, waiting a few years is so much better, as you'll have developed skills like time management, financial planning, how to read/research/plan your work and so on.

    Best of luck :)

  6. 18.  I think there is no time that is too late.  Some people can't afford to go to college when they are that young and others life situation wouldn't allow it.  My parents couldn't go to college when they were my age because they couldn't afford it and then they had my sister and I and couldn't spare the time or the money for either one of them to go.  Now that my sister and I are adults and on our own they have the time and the money to go if they want to.

  7. Its never too late, I was 38 when I started and I finished at 42

  8. Eighteen. Where did all this "gap year" nonsense come from?

  9. I was 37!!!!!

  10. I was 18.

You will certainly not be one of the older ones if that worries you.

Im not sure what you mean by too late, too late for what?

  11. Alot of people don't go to uni until they hit their twenties which is why there are a lot of mature students. Its only late if you yourself think it is. I was 18 when i started university but thats because i attended straight after i finished my Alevels but you don't have to do that so attending it when your about 23 is not too late.
