What age do you have to be to legally bartend/receive a license/attend bartending school? Is it 18 or 21? Does it vary by state?

  1. it varies

u have to be old enough to drink!

  2. Depends on your state, but I know in PA you only have to be 18 to serve alcohol.

  3. to even enter a bar in most states you have to be the legal limit, so 21 in the US, and 18 in canada.  (doubt they would want you to bartend remotely... maby use those robotic things that allow surgeons to do it?)

the legal limit to waitress is different, you can be 18 and serve alcohol in many states, but to mix/handle you have to be the age limit... after all who would want their drinks mixxed by someone that can't legally taste them to find out if its any good?

VERY doubtful any bar would hire you underage anyway, even if it was legal.

  4. definitely 21

  5. You have to be 21 to even touch alcohol here in Ohio. I'm not sure about other states. I've been looked over for jobs before I wouldn't be allowed to serve alcohol.

  6. Yes it varies by state...here you this link to help you out.

But remember...just because the state allows you to serve at a curtain age doesn't mean the establishments liquor license allows it.

  7. In ny you have to be 18 to serve.

  8. In CT, it's 18, even though the drinking age is 21.
