What age do children start school in Scotland is it differ ant from England?

Usually 5, but I started school when I was 4 1/2.  I was one of the youngest in my class at Primary School.

They can enter primary one at 4 1/2 if born between 01March and  31 Oct start after summer hols in year they turn 5.

Born between 01 Nov and 28 Feb can also start at the same time or can defer until after following summer hols.

So any time between 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 .

Our schools stopped today for summer holidays until end august and the new intake in august will be kids that will be 5 years old before the end of next February.
