  1. I don't know the exact age, but it's probably 13+.  If you're a minor, you need a joint account with an adult.  I had an account with Scottrade at 17 yrs old.  You can easily buy stocks and manage your stock portfolio on their website at www.scottrade.com.

  2. In this country 18. Of course, I don't know if you are in this country, as you didn't say!

  3. Like any other form of gambling, in the US you need to be an adult.

But if you're a minor, you could ask your parents to invest on your behalf, and hold it in trust for you.

  4. You have to be 18 years old to open a brokerage account.

If your younger, there must be a custodian account for you,

Someone said they have an account at the age of 17 and you could open one at 13   This is an incorrect response

An account for a 17 year old is illegal and subject to penalties, such as fines, liquidations and censure, also you can not open an account at 13
