Kathy is right. The regulations can vary from sate to state.  Just call the school that you are interested in and ask them what the policy is. If your child is the correct age then you can register him/her.  You'll have to bring a birth certificate with you to prove the age.

But, you need to check with your school district of your city and see when is the cut-off day to enter a child for kindergarten.  This is different from state to state even city to city.

The reason is, for example if the cut-off day is Dec. 5th, and your child can enter the school as long as he/she born before Dec. 5th, else any child born after Dec. 5th will enter the next school year term.
