  2. perv

  3. I started at five.

  4. If u don't mean horses ur disgusting! U PERV! lol : - )

  5. I hope youre talking about riding HORSES. O_o

But if your talking about a daughter or something like that

she could ride when she's ready.

Some people start right when they can walk!

    But on ponies though.

  6. well it all depends. some people will have their kids in the saddle by 3, and showing by 6. others will wait until their daughter gets caught up in the world of horses usually 9 or 10. I personally started at 14, which i thought was a little late, but hey people in their 50's are just starting so why not!

  7. I started when i was 4 i lived on a race horse farm and got to get leasons from one of the trainers on one of the quieter race horses.

  8. horses?

i started before i could walk or even rember doing it

i have pictures of me and my mom on a horse when i was one

and me alone on one when i was 4

but my grandpa owns a horse ranch

and we go down there every other summer

just to get away from the city for awile

  9. i started riding horses before  i was walking , the main thing is to make sure the horse or pony u pick for a child to ride is not overly fat or super wide as this can strain the pelvis of a child, Your child will be able to let you know if the saddle or the horse feels to wide

  10. My riding instructor had a baby last year and the baby is already being led around on some of the older schooling horses

  11. we've started my nephew riding lots of different horses and he is not even 2 years old yet.

He sits on the horse and can hold on by himself even when they are trotting, he's been riding for about 4 months now on his own like that

he has rode 5 different horses and they are all above 14.3 hds the tallest one which is his favorite is 16hds

  12. My older daughter started at two and a half.  My baby daughter is nearly 9 months, and she has had a quick sit on the pony, but she'll start riding when she's steady on her feet.  The boy (who is the middle one) started at about 18 months.

  13. When her head fits a helmet.

  14. Whenever someone skilled is there to get her started.

  15. as soon as she can hold her self up and pay attention, and have enough balance so she doesnt fall off!

  16. whenever she feels. i started riding when i was 5. i learned "left", "right", and things when i started riding.

  17. What do you want to ride..... exactly?

  18. I think the first time I was on a horse I was about 6 months old - my mom took me on in front of her - you're never too young to start!

  19. if my horse hadn't had an acident and needed to get put down i would have been riding before i could walk. :(

The only reason I started riding when I was 10 was because thats when i got my new horse

  20. wenever

    hAVe a look below

  21. i think a kid can begin riding at about 6 or 7..... otherwise you can lead them around for fun and let them be around horses.

it also depends on the kid.. if they are really loud/all over the place or quiet and able to listen to directions.

  22. I started at like 5 or 6 but my parents put me on horses (like them holding me, then later with them leading the horse and me holding on myself) at a much younger age. I was a really good rider by age 9 and had a Shetland pony by then. Horses are a lot of work to own. Taking lessons is always a good idea to start with. I took lessons a lot before I had my ponies. Learning how to ride the proper way is a lot safer. Also, a good teacher can help determine when the child is ready to start riding on their own. My parents taught me with a western saddle at first, then I switched to a bareback pad when I was more sure of myself. Hope this helps!

  23. i guess when she can reach the saddle

    ;)

  24. My little girl started at the age of 7 months in a snuggly in front of me on a saddle.  graduated to a buddy seat at about 2 1/2  At 4 she was being ponied on a horse of her own and by the end of the summer was riiding just a tad by herself in the yard (NOT ON TRAILS yet) .  By the end of her 5th summer I had cut her loose to ride trails beside me.  Her horse was trained to stay right there beside and just a little behind mine.  Now 6 she is riding completely by herself.

That said, keep in mind she had been on horses since before she could walk and has been actually astride them for years now.  I did not just say here is a horse climb on.  I watched her closely until she had a better seat than most adults.  It also helps that the mare she is on is a dead head bottle fed mare that has thousands of trail miles on and who is highly protective of my girl.

    Edit

I should add these are horses not ponies.

  25. my own child started riding when she was old enough to walk on her own (with me helping her of course!!) but she started taking riding lessons when she was about 6 so she could actually pay attetion and be safe!!!

  26. as soon as she can sit up by her self but with somone behind her on the saddle, maybe u sit behind her and she sits in front of u kind of way on a quiet horse of course lol. u could also put her on a miniature pony and u could hold her up  lol.

  27. I know a 3 year old who owns like 3 ponies and does ride (under supervision)

  28. u can start riding at any age.  i have seen 2 year olds riding.  i would suggest starting to ride when your muscles have matured some and you can run and play a sport (i.e. soccer) you don't have to b good or anything just able to run for awhile because horse back riding is hard.
