What age do u start preschool in NSW?

We r moving to NSW from VIC in 1 month, my daughter is currently attending kindergarden here but apparantly in NSW kindergarden is the equivelent to prep in VIC. Would she go into preschool? And what r the hours?

    school in nsw starts from 4and half years.

  2. Preschool caters for children 3-5 years old.

    They must begin primary school before their 6th b'day. Most children start school in the January closest to their 5th birthday. The first year of primary school is labelled Kindergarten. Then comes year 1, 2 etc.

  3. kinderarten in NSW is the year before year one, and the hours are exactly the same as normal school. eg: 9-3, however depending on the schools this may change.

    Kindergarten or 'kindy' usually starts age 4-5 sometimes 6
