  1. There are numerous reasons to have your fingerprints recorded; Military duty, police or security officer applications, pistol permits applications, to exclude you from the commission of a crime - likewise to prove you committed a crime..  and to post into your passport for foreign travel.  There is no set age to have your fingerprints recorded, since there is no set age as to when you can commit a crime.


  2. I had my fingerprints taken at 18 when I joined the Navy. Some parents fingerprint their children in case they are kidnapped. Some people will go their entire life without getting fingerprinted. There is no set age where it must happen.

  3. I'm 48 and haven't yet.  You don't need to unless you are charged with a crime.
