What age do you have to be to have a tubal ligation surgery completed, i am a 30 year old woman w/ no kids.?

i'm not interested in having any kids at all and want to have the procedure done is there an age limit or do you to have a kid to have one done?

I think each doctor sets there own standards. So if one doctor says no then go to another.

I am 33, and I've been trying to get one since I was 25 or so. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a doctor who is willing to preform it- they always dismiss me because "I'll change my mind".  It makes me extremely angry, but now I have an IUD, so I can wait and get the ligation when I have my IUD taken out.

Most doctors wouldn't do it unless you've had kids.

if you have a understanding doctor that will do them even if you don't want children you shouldn't have a problem. My doctor don't give them until you have aleast one child and then he really questions you to make sure that is what you want to do. I feel that it's your body and if you want your tubes tied then so be it. I was told you still can get prego even with the tubes tied so be careful.

At 30 years old, I don't think you will have a problem getting a doctor to agree.  No kid is required.  Good luck.

At your age, I'm sure a doctor would not have a problem with going ahead and doing the procedure.  If you are too young and have had no kids, they won't do it.  However, you are old enough to have made this decision knowing all the repercussions.

The requirements in my state or area is that you must have at least 2 kids , or be at least 30. Also you have to request the operation a few months in advance I believe. ANd you have to have your hubby's consent. Stupid, because hubby doesnt need consent for a vasectomy.. but those are the requirements my friend was told by her doc when she looked into it.

No age limit.  Just make sure the hospital is not Catholic, they won't do the procedure.  I found that out the hard way..
