  1. one year old is the minimum

  2. You can start now. There is actually VERY LITTLE difference between puppy and adult commercial foods. It's a bunch of BS for the most part. Feed a high quality adult food and I am not talking about Purina Blow Chow.

  3. Some people skip puppy food altogether, especially in large breeds,as puppy food can cause too rapid of growth, which can cause joint problems. I usually feed my dogs puppy food until they are about 4 months, then I feed a mix of puppy/adult until they are 6 months, when I switch over to adult food. You can safely switch a 10 month old pup over to adult food.

  4. I have Chihuahuas. When they became a year old, I tried feeding them the adult version of their puppy food, but the kibble bites were too big so they couldn't eat it. I then tried them on several kinds of small bite adult dog food (Science Diet, Iam, Eukanuba, Nutro) and just like they wouldn't eat the puppy versions of these foods, they wouldn't eat the adult. So mine are still eating Purina Beneful for Puppies. It may not be what's best for other dogs, but my yet tells me they are in great condition as far as weight, health, so we just stick with the Puppy Food.

  5. Hi, depending on what type of dog it is, usually 1 year, if it is highly active dog maybe 1 1/2 years old.  If the dog loses weight on adult dog foo you need to see the vet or change food to meed the breed standard.  Hope this helps!
