  1. When they stop studying.

  2. NEVER!! i still hit up the bank of mom for money and im 23. s***w what anyone thinks thats MY MOMMY and if i need the money she will give me!

  3. I'm 24 and married, but I have been completely self reliant since I was 17.  I have never asked my parents for money and they did not pay for my college.  I deal with a lot of college kids finances and they are the worst ever....please start teaching your kids responsibility EARLY in life.

  4. Depends on the circumstances I suppose. I stopped getting 'pocket money' when I finished school. I still lived at home for practically nothing & Mum would still buy me things from time to time (because she wanted to, not because I was asking her to.) I'm now 25, married with a baby & my own house..but Mum still buys me (& hubby, & bub) thigs from time to time. She also helped us out when my husband was out of work for 8 months (LOANED us money though, not GAVE.) She has now just extended her own mortgage so she can lend us the $15, 000 we need for a new roof (we can't extend ours as we're now on 1 income with a baby!)

So..if you wanted a simple answer, sorry for wasting your time while you read this lol. In terms of pocket money/allowance, I would think if they get a part-time job while still at school, or when they finish school. It is still great to give help in terms of accomodation or whatever, but I'd say for cash hand-outs so they can buy clothes and c**p - as soon as possible lol.

  5. I wouldn't mind giving my kids money into the time they are in their careers. I expect them to get a part time job when they are 16 (for gas $), but I'll still give them spending cash and buy their clothes clear through college. We plan on giving them a grocery card and sending them spending $ in college years.

  6. i say when they get a job

  7. The legal age they are allowed to get a job at. When 16 rolls around I think they should start learning the value of a dollar and at least TRY to get a job so they know how it is going to be when they are out on their own without mom and dad handing them money every week.
