My kids are 12, 9, 4. They all have bikes, and love riding, but any actual rides? I don't know.. once I get more into it I would like to take them along but when should they be able to handle it?

  1. I think 9 is a good age. Depends on gender too, my 9 year old sister is loves it but I think a boy being stronger would keep up on hills and stuff better. Good luck and God bless!

  2. The 12 and 9 year old should be more than ready to handle a cycling trip.

However, it will be tough on the 4 year old.

  3. They are a good age now. The 4 year old may have a harder time keeping up but there are bikes you can get that attach to yours which makes it easier for young children. Make sure they know the safety rules if you ride near the street and always have them wear helmets. I know 6 year olds who do trail riding for a couple of hours at a time and do great.

  4. 6 I saw a 4 year old have a head on with an adult the other day and was VERY hurt

  5. It depends on the child, honestly. Take them out and have them compete with each other but don't push them too much if they're tired, they need to condition if they're serious about it.

  6. 12 and the 9 year old would make it for about a 30 minute ride but, the 4 year old isn't ready.

  7. i started when i was 6, with side wheels on.

  8. yes they can do it pleas.

  9. it depends on the difficulty level, terrain, and type of bike
