  1. The age where the maturity level is high enough to meet these following standards:

-can they make good food for themselves to eat?

-do they know all the emergency phone numbers?

-will they be the type to sneak out to a party or throw a party?

    -are they followers or leaders?

Answer positively to these, and they are able to stay home alone

They need to know its a big deal because trust is a fundamental skill for growing children. Without trust between parent and child, theres no telling what could happen. For all we know they could continue to break the rules...Trust me, my friend is like that...she gave head to someone before she even kissed a boy (for 20 bucks)...low man...and she was younger than the age of...13

    I'm only 15 (almost 16) but i matured early

I think i was able to stay home alone without much insane precaution at age 10

but it all depends on the time and place where you live

I live in a close knit community and its very isolated...not much bad stuff happens so it was acceptable for me to be home alone around 8,9,10 age group. Its where, how, and when the kid(s) grow and mature..

hope this is an ok answer

  2. There are no age parameters for leaving child alone at home.

Love your child don't leave me them alone.

  3. I started staying home alone for short periods at 7 and all day at 9. Most states have laws about this. Here in Virginia the law is 12 or 14 years old.

  4. Whenever the parent feels the child is mature enough to be left home alone. Kids mature at different rates so you can't put a time stamp on such a thing. It also depends if there are older siblings who can take care of the child. Too many factors to narrow it down. Bassically whenever the parent and child are ready.

When was I left alone? At about 6 or 7 my parents started leaving me home alone with my two older brothers. One is 3 years older and one is 6 years older than I.

  5. I dont feel its what age... I feel its when your child is mature enough and responable enough you know? think about it that way.

  6. I agree with what others have said about it being dependent on the child. My son (now 16) was able to stay home alone for short periods when he was 6. He was just that mature (and he really hated running to the store with me). My daughter (now 7) is completely different and doesn't get to stay home when I run a quick errand and probably won't for at least a couple more years.  I myself remember walking home after kindergarten and letting myself into the house to wait for my parents to come home from work. (seems crazy now though, I don't even let my 1st grader walk home from the bus stop alone!)

  7. Well like other people said it really depends on the maturity of the child. I started being left home alone at about 11.

  8. Somewhere during junior high if you child is mature enough. I was left alone at maybe....12 13 more so than 11.

  9. It really does not depend on the age of the child, but the maturity aspect.  I left my daughter alone much younger than I did my older son.  She was more responsible.  However I would never leave someone younger than about 12 or 13.

  10. depends on how mature they are.

And i assume your talking about completely home alone without anybody.

Mmm , I'd say no sooner then 13. Only cause kids younger then that would probablly answer the door and get scared or something.

But staying home alone during the night is a totally different story though , I would say 16 for that.
