  1. When you're dead.

Any of us could die tomorrow, or become severely disabled.

And grandmother's who end up bringing up their grandkids are often the best "parents" on earth.  Anyone who would open their heart and their home to a foster kid, particularly one with issues is better than leaving that kid in a group home or being bounced around from temporary home to temporary home.

  2. I know a woman who gave birth when she was 50...(my aunt).  How old for adoptions depends upon the type of adopting and the age of the child.

  3. 100

  4. 50+

  5. 45+

  6. Well, are you willing to leave behind a 15-year old orphan?  I'd say that there shouldn't be more than 40 years difference.  I wouldn't want my kids to have to take care of me when they're in their 20's or even their 30's. I also wouldn't want to risk dying before my child is independent. True - I could get hit by a big truck today but, short of an accident, I am a lot less likely to die of natural causes in my 40's than I would be in my 70's..

  7. im 41 years old and just had my baby girl 12 days ago.  My boyfriend is 50 years old.  Yes we are older and the pregnancy was unplanned.  I dont regret it!! Its great and im enjoying it alot more now b/c i know its my last child and last chance to be a mom again.  I think its a state of mind to be honest.  If you feel young at heart i think thats what matters the most.  However, the risk for birth defects is alot stronger at 40 years and up.  Thats the only worry and a major one.  Personally, i think having a baby over 45 years old for a woman is probably a little extreme and i think 50 is the extreme for a man.  I think having a baby at 41 was kind of old but now my baby keeps me young and busy.  I do not look my age or act my age and noone every guesses my age.  Having children makes one feel young at heart again.  As far as adoption goes, i think there is no age limit for adoption b/c there is no risk for birth defects.  I think if two parents who are loving and kind are wiling to give a child a good life, thats all that matters. For adoption, i think 60 and over is probably a little extreme for adopting a newborn but not too old for adopting a school age child or a teenager.
