Depends on the state, but mostly they are ridiculously simple, it's far eaiser to get it once you're over 18 because they request an Ife card.

1- Valid IFE card

2- Whatever amount of money they charge you (in the DF they used to have permanent drivers liscenses which cost you 40 dollars, but they removed them. Suckers, I got one bwahahahaha!!!). In The State of Mexico they charge you between 30-50 dollars depending on how many years you want it. The State of Mexico did ask for my CURP number which I don't know but it's apparently in your birth certificate.

3- A pulse

Yes, you don't need to know how to drive to get a drivers liscense in Mexico bwahahahaha, half of the requirements is to literally have a pulse.

Had I had the cash, I would have gotten the additional Edomex liscense just for the heck of collectin' them. Apparently my DF liscense isn't even on their database hahaha.

In Mexico State are very corrupt as you see, but in the State of Jalisco you will need the following:

1.- To be 18 year old.

2.- Id (voting card) to probe that you are Mexican.

3.- Proof of address.  You have to present an official receipt as the telephone bill or the electric bill with the address where you live.

4.- Practical driving test with one of the transit police officials in order to check that you really know how to drive.

5.- A writting test of the transit rules and regulations.

6.- A test of your eye vision.

7.- The payment of the amount of your license aprox. 450 pesos for a automovil driver or 750 pesos for a chofer to drive all types of vehicles.

If you are 16 year old, no problem, you can get your license presenting a letter-permission of the parents.

Jalisco State has the lower rate in automovil accidents.
