What age should I introduce male and female snakes?

I have a 6 month old corn snake and I'm planning to breed it with a female but I don't know when it's best to introduce her into the vivarium. I could keep her seperate if it's necessary for a bit but I don't have much room so I want to do it Asap. What age would it be suitable to introduce it?

Breeding snakes is not always a matter of just sticking them together.  Make sure you read up on it or talk to experts.  Honestly I'm not even sure a snake is mature enough to breed at 6 months.  I had pythons for a while but never planned to breed them so I am not an expert in that area.

I think it is not so much the age that matters, but they should probably be about equal size, one that is much bigger than the other might pick on the smaller one.

I'm not trying to be mean, but if you don't even know the age that your snakes can breed you haven't done enough research and even if they breed you will probably lose the clutch.

Do yourself, your snakes, and a possible clutch a favor and get some books and read up on the subject.

trish is right, you need to do a lot more research before you think about even breeding. A female corn wouldn't be suitable for breeding until she is atleast 18 months but closer to 24 to 36 months. Male species for most snakes can breed very early but you're going to want to have both species at atleast 18 months. And for best results, you will do what is called brumation. It's hiberation and each snake is put to temperatures of around 55 degrees for 2-3 months. two weeks before you brumate, you stop all feeding and after brumation, you will wait until their first shed to introduce them for mating. There is a lot of research that needs to be done. You will also need a incubator to keep the eggs and enough enclosures to hold all the babies when they're born. Corn snakes are very easy to breed so you probably won't get much more than $20 or $30 a baby. They're not money makers.
