  1. Umm they shouldn't, hence the word childproof. If you want them to burn down something than to each their own but I always told kids that I seen playing with lighters, " you play with lighters, you pee the bed." My daughter is 2 so I dont have to worry about her. You are crazy if you even let them hold a lighter.

  2. not at 4

  3. Your kid should have learned that about two years ago.  By the age of 4 he should be not only capable of lighting fireworks, he should also know how to drive a car to go to the liquor store and get you more Wild Turkey after you pass out.

    Sheesh.

  4. You should be allowed to have kids!

NEVER be taught when the time  comes they won't be a child any more!

Maybe you need to sit them down and let them know its never ok to play with fire works or matches! And that brings me to my next questions why in the h**l do you have those kinda things laying around that a 4 year old might find them?

  5. My 3 year old learned last year (when she was smart and had eyebrows) how to rig the lighter so that the flame shoots up to around 3 inches.  The further her little hand is away from the illegal firework fuse the safer it is, if you ask me.

  6. My kid knew how to use lighters and roll my joints by age 3, yours is slacking

  7. Why would you want a child to know how to use a lighter?

Wait until they're responsible and mature enough to be left with such an item, maybe in their teens?

  8. around the same time you teach them how to gut a blunt and roll a nice, smooth fatty/hogleg.

Our playdates rock. (nada) You should come. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two...  your kid CAN work a corkscrew, right?

  10. Given that a four year old is still a child they should NEVER be taught how to use any type of lighter. Most lighters are made in a special way that makes it very hard for children to figure out how to use. Hence the words "childproof" meaning child resistant. DO YOU THINK IT IS SMART FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD TO HAVE ACCESS TO OBJECTS THAT IGNITE FIRE? IF your answer to this question is "yes" then I am going to assume you  want this child to end up severely burned and in the ER.

  11. not until there 16 .

  12. ur a ******* nut! They r childproof for a reason. R u trying to burn him, ur house, or anything else for that matter. Your gonna turn this child into a pyro!

  13. What age? haha you so funny, me laugh you long time!  How bout sometime during the middle ages, particularly around the Spanish Inquisition or during the Salem Witch Hunts?

  14. 9 - 12 months old.

    Tops.

  15. An adult or responsible adolescent should light the fireworks... You---or whoever you're referring to---could be charged with child endangerment, and rightfully so.

  16. That's the kind of thing you teach them in the first 2 years. Either you're a bad father or your son is challenged. I really hope he's challenged because I don't want to have to judge you for being a bad father.

  17. its childproof for a reason

  18. Wow, they shouldn't be taught how to use one at all. That can cause a pyromaniac or even the child accidentally burning the house down.

  19. Not until they're mature enough to understand what fire does and how it can hurt you. Please don't give your 4 year old a lighter to play with.

  20. I hereby nominate you "Father of the Year for 2008"

    Are you Kidding me?

  21. 1st of all he shouldnt be lighting fireworks!! And no way with a lighter my god go visit a childs burn unit and see what can happen with these poor burnt kids playing with lighters or matches!!

  22. scary question and hopefully a joke.

  23. Not at 4, maybe around age 9 or 10.

  24. Is this a gag question??  It surely cannot be sincere.

  25. I would say around five. Until then, light his cigarettes for him and teach him how to light them from the butt of his previous one.

  26. I guess everybody's leaving it up to me to tell you . . . . your kid is behind Dave.  Next thing you'll be saying is that bvllshit about a "workers permit".  At 4 they should have a job and a regular dope man.  ÃƒÂ¢Ã‚™Â¥

  27. i like to give my kids blowtorches, have you taught yours to bbq yet?

  28. You've got to be kidding!! A 4 year old with fire??

Why don't you spend your time teaching this child how to cross the street safely?

They're called "CHILDPROOF" for a reason!!!

  29. that was deffinately a dumb question!

  30. if your trying to teach a four year old how to use a lighter then the ideal age to teach them would be four years old
