  1. I was left alone for a few hours when I became 14 years old.  I'm 17 now, but my parents will not leave me alone overnight, because they don't consider it safe.  I personally don't see anything wrong with that arrangement, because if I'm honest, I wouldn't feel safe if I was left alone overnight.

  2. I would leave a 13 Y/O for a few hours. but only if they were capable.

  3. it should be 16 but i think legally it's 13.

  4. It depends on the maturity of the child, around maybe 20 if they are moving out, if they are just going to the mall for an hour or so, then 13 with a friend. If by there self, then fifteen, sixteen, if they have their own car, then the can go anywhere in by book of references.

  5. Children are allowed to be on their own if their parents feel they are responsible enough but they have to be 14 to look after another child on their own! Hope this helps!

  6. i no that u r nt allowed to b left on ur own wen ur 13

  7. I think 15 is to young to be left alone (ie no one responsible for you in a 100 mile radius) in a country you don't know.

    Am I wrong?

  8. At the age of 15.

  9. what age should a child be on there own ?

    Girls: about 15

    Boys: about 26

  10. no they would have, its just the girl was left in area that she did not know herself.

but plenty of children that age go camping on their own etc

or parents let them out drinking to all times!! !

  11. legally in UK you can leave a 14 yr old on their own at home!!

  12. Personally, I think that leaving a 15 year old child alone for three weeks with a "friend" who just happens to be having illegal s*x with her is more than a little irresponsible.

Goa is a place that attracts all sort of people - some good and some bad.  There is a lot of drink and drugs and is full of life's wanderers - would you honestly leave a 15 year old child alone there?

Whenever you visit another country you should respect the law of that country - isn't that what us British always expect from it's foreign visitors?

  13. 16 years old, with responsible adults nearby. I expect the social work department concerned, here will already have plans, in action.

  14. A child  of 15 years should be ok to leave on his or her own in the Uk, up to 8.30-9pm. But there is no way i would leave my child with some one else in a strange country not even over night unless it was  with someone i had known for a very long time. But even then it would only be overnight. My prayers go out to her and her family . scotty

  15. If a child is considered irresponsible by his mom because she hasn't taught him the fundamentals of growing up as he enters a new phase, then yes indeed, he doesn't need to be in the home by himself.  Back when I was a kid, it was common for parents to have their 15 year old babysit the smaller ones and no one balked.  I believe that children these days are extremely irresponsible compared to my day.  Kids are babied too long and we looking at some trouble in the horizon because of it.

  16. It depends really on how long they will be alone for. A few hours is very different to a few weeks. I think the authorities here would have the same attitude yes - look at that woman who was arrested for leaving her teenager alone while she went on holiday to see her boyfriend.

  17. I think 3 years old.  By then you can eat and stuff on your own

  18. I live in KY and there are NO laws as to when a child can stay home alone.  Believe me I have checked this out with the state and was told that.  It's up to the parents to decide when the child is mature enough.   Some kids even babysit others before the age of 14 and that's ok.  Not with me tho.

  19. 14 year old [at home for a few hours]
