What age should a girl start wearing makeup?

Just wondering... my little sister's only 10 and she wants to start wearing makeup!!! :S I started at age 13.

i would have started at 12 like my sister, but I didnt learn until my freshman year, and then it took me until spring to get it down perfect to my own style

I don't think age 10 is a good time to start wearing makeup. They don't need it and it's not good for anyone's skin. Plus, she could get picked on. Let her wear lipgloss instead. I started wearing makeup when I was 13.

haha when you have an older sister who wears makeup it makes you want to...A LOT.

well i think when people at school start wearing makeup, you should probably think about it, because you wouldn't want to feel less confident, or something like that..

10 is a little young, but maybe she could wear a little lip gloss or something just for fun. but whole on eyeliner and everything - might look a little strange.

Her age is fine as long as she only wears the basics, maybe some glittery eyeshadow and lip-gloss would be cute and it would satisfy her.

If she wants more then just tell her what she has is fine and she looks gorgeous.

when she starts to need it. 13 is a good age. wait wearing makeup means what? like every day, regularly to school? or like once in a while. if once in a wile then  nows good but regularly like everyday dont let her untl 13 or 14 becuase makeup makes u age quicker.

I would say her age is fine.

let her experiment at home, I got my first make-up kit when I was seven. it's a fun way for her to express herself and as long as she doesn't go out in public looking like a tramp she'll be fine. Get her some powder, blush, mascara, eyeliner, and lipgloss. TEACH her how to use it, and make sure to emphasize makeup enhances natural beauty it doesnt make you more beautiful. It sounds like a lot of makeup, but I wore a lot more than that at her age and it helped me realize I dont NEED it, unlike friends who werent allowed to have makeup until they were in high school who looked like clowns.

I think blush,lipgloss, eyeshadow, and mascara or coverup is good for a 10 year old. I mean theres no problem with a little makeup. As long as she doesnt wear like 10 layers of makeup  lol.

Thats actually a great age to start using makeup.

I started when I was in the 6th grade (age 11) and I did a terrifyingly ugly job. we are talking cakey foundation, ugly eyeliner, etc

in 7th grade, i got really expirimental and put a bunch on colorful eyeshadow on and it was a train wreck

in 8th grade, i toned it down a bit but still wore to much

in 9th grade, i started wearing less and less throughout the year

and now i think i look beautiful in just a bit of eyeliner on my top lid and mascara

i've noticed kids go through phases similar to this when it comes to makeup and i think its better to just get it over with

girls should have makeup down pat by the time they get to high school

age ten isnt too bad, under one condition: you teach her how to use it right. she needs to learn the techniques, amounts, and good products sooner or later, so show them to her now, and there will be less of a hassle later. dont let her get her own product, though. if she wants makeup, go shop with her for QUALITY stuff. some awesome starters:

- tinted moisturizer

- mascara (in a hue close to her lashes' natural one)

- lip balm or low-shine lip gloss

- tweezer for (barely any) brow grooming
