  1. Why is this listed under birds?

  2. yes why is this listed under birds

  3. I usually wait until my kits (baby rabbits) are about a week old for the first cleaning. Then, I just remove them and put them in a shoebox with a warm towel and momma's fur on top while I dump the other bedding and clean the nestbox.

Then, just put in new bedding and make a shallow dip in the back in the same area that the nest was originally in. Line it with a little fur, stick the kits on top, and put the rest of the fur on top of them.

I'd do another cleaning at two weeks, and three weeks. At about 4-5 weeks, they should be fine to take the nestbox out completely. Just make sure you give them a wooden board or plastic rabbit resting board so that they have some way to get off the wire and rest- the wire is hard on little feet!
