  1. Most schools require the child to be 4 and potty trained.

  2. SOME TAKE THEM AROUND THE AGE OF 1YR. OLD AND 3YR. OLD

  3. It depends on her and you. If you can give her adequate social experiences, read to her often, and take her places, I'd say never. I didn't go to preschool, but mom read to us daily, many books a day, we went to the library and came out with huge stacks of books, and we played outside all the time. My mom also did daycare for teachers, so we had playmates other than siblings. The most important thing is that your daughter be exposed to books and vocabulary. A great resource is bornlearning.org. They have some public service announcements on tv that are pretty funny but make a point.

If you want/need to put her in preschool, do your research and stay involved.

  4. 3 or 4

  5. Many preschools enroll three-year-olds.  A two day a week program is fine for three's (half-days).

I'd wait until 4 for a five day a week program.

  6. 3

  7. I would say 4 yrs old at least. If she is scared to go at that time take her when she is 5 yrs. I had sister when she was scared to go...I told her to that they'll have a whole bunch of stuff that's fun and awesome.

  8. It really depends on your child.  In general I recommend three or four years old.  A few questions you could ask yourself...

Is she an only child?  If so, does she have a peer group she can play with routinely?  Preschool is a great way to get them involved with their peer group.

Does she have trouble with being separated from you?  Preschool will help in this regard but find a quality one with teachers that understand that this transition is difficult for some children.

Do YOU need a couple days for yourself?  Taking care of yourself is necessary to be the best mom you can.  There are some great programs that only are 2 half days...you may want to consider that.  I found that my eldest son and I were too much alike and we definitely needed a little break from each other so sending him to a couple day a week preschool program not only allowed him to socialize with his peers but also gave us the necessary "break".

My suggestion is a two day a week 3 year old program and a three day a week for the next year.  Good luck!

  9. About four or five. I enrolled my niece in school at age five. They learn best while they're young!

  10. I would say 3 or 4.

  11. I personally and honestly think think that you should enroll your daughter in preschool at age 2. Trust me it will be better for you and her. HOW? If she starts when she is 2+ she will repeat, not for a bad reason, but she repeats because she is too young to move on to the next grade/class. when the next set of students come she will be more advanced than the others. I KNOW this because this is what my sister did with her children and it did work.

  12. It depends on the preschool - some take at 2 and half, others not till 3. Also, does the preschool have places? Some preschools are so popular, parents put the child's name down soon after birth! I work in a Nursery class at an independent school and we accept children from 3. They also have to be dry (another thing to think about!).

The most important thing is that your daughter enjoys herself and that you don't get too stressed!!!

  13. My work takes them at 2.9 but they have to be potty trained. I personally think 3 is a good age to start them off.

  14. I work as a preschool teacher. It all depends on what you want her to get out of the experience. At the age of one children are not as verbal so biting is a real issue. Can you handle the risk of your child being bitten or even being the biter? If you are looking for social experience right now and don't want to do preschool consider finding play groups to get her that experience. More adults to watch the children means less risk of biting. Preschool starts at the age of 3, your child is practicing self help skills such as toileting, dressing and clean up. Also, they are learning shapes, colors, numbers and letters.By the end of preschool (4 yrs) your child should be starting to right her name. Pre-K is for ages 4-5 and it's getting ready for kindergarten (check the entrance policies at your child's future school--they've increased what your child has to know to get in). Consider buying the ITERS guide, just google it. It's the Infant/Toddler rating scale to guide your preschool/child care choice. Sorry for being wordy, I deal with parents who dont' care if they are informed about their childs education. Happy to help those that are.

  15. Most children start preschool at around 3 years....

  16. Typically between ages 3-4, kids go to preschool 2 or 3 days a week for a couple of hours each time.  Between ages 4-5, they might either add a day or 2, or increase the length of time they're in classes.  If you do a preschool as part of a daycare, then it would be part of the curriculum already.

  17. try at 4. if she's to scare at 4. do 5 solid.
