  1. People have different opinions.. Some breeders pull the birds at 5 days old, some people pull them at 10 days, some wait 2 weeks.. I guess it just depends on what your availability is in terms of how often you're able to give feedings.  Obviously, younger chicks need to be fed more often than older ones.


  2. if you do hand feed please learn the right way on how to do it. you can  s***w it up very easily. the formula has to be mixed correctly and at the right tempurature. too hot and you can burn them, too cold and they won't eat it or it can drop their body tempurature. plus , lovebirds really don't need much formula at each feeding. i say let the parents do it if your not taught how.

  5. It's best to let the parents feed them for a few days so they can get the good antibodies from them just like a human child gets them from his mother.  After that you can start to handfeed.
