  1. When she's old enough to appreciate them and not lose them. Basically at the very earliest, end of high school or college time.

  2. Probably around 18, she'll be an adult and hopefully value and appreciate the piece that you give her by then.

  3. I think it's nice to give at special occasions and then you can always hold on to it until she's older... For example, I received a beautiful ring at my 5th birthday but I didn't wear it regularly (only special occasions) until I was older (we had it stretched out).  Also, my mom had a beautiful ring made for me and engraved at high school graduation, then for college grad I got a charm bracelet. Both were really nice sentimental gifts- I'd go with your gut and then be careful about how she wears it!

  4. My mom gave me my birthstone and diamond ring when I turned 18. She intends on giving my little sister one at the same age. And I do have to say that at any earlier age, I probably would not have appreciated or take care of it enough. If your daughter is really mature, give it to her at maybe 16. Any earlier than that, they are still all about wearing their Hannah Montana jewelry and American Eagle shell necklaces.

  5. It varies wildly.  I wasn't ready for expensive jewelry until after I had finished law school.  I just didn't have dress-up occasions before then, and I couldn't be trusted to take care of anything other than costume jewelry.

  6. Well i got my first expensive jewlry at 5 yrs. old. Its better for her to get young, that way she'll learn to take care of it sooner. But start off small like earrings. But the sooner the better, because they learn responsibility. Hope it helps :]

  7. maybe 16 or even 18... depends how mature she is

  8. I'd say when she becomes a teenager.

I got my first expensive jewelry item when I was about 8. I liked it and knew to take care of it, but I could have really cared less about it. I don't think I ever wore it until I was older.

When she's around 12-13, she will probably appreciate it more, as well as know how to take care of it.
