What age were you when you realized that you NEEDED makeup to look somewhat decent?

I'm 23 years old. I used to be able to roll out of bed in the morning and greet society with my fresh, beautiful, make-up-free face. Ah, yes. To be 15 again... Now, I wake up with dark circles and bags under my eyes, uneven blotchy skin, puffy face, etc. My fiance is kind enough to tell me I look gorgeous with and without makeup, but I know the truth. Once I put on makeup, I look 100 times better! I'm just curious to know how old you were when or even IF (lucky b******s) you realized you needed makeup?

  5. 12 luv ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Don't feel bad.  I've needed makeup pretty much my whole life.  At 12, I started wearing makeup to cover my bad skin.  So makeup has pretty much always been a must.  And, honestly, almost everyone looks 100% better with makeup on.

  7. 14 but i only wore powder and mascara pretty much, otherwise i felt naked and self conscious without it.

  8. 14? But I rarely wear it anymore. Just got used to looking natural :P

  9. Make up makes everyone look better.  But it's a girl's nature to want to look pretty even when they are pretty naturally.

I just wear eyeliner and lip gloss, I am very careful with my skin, but the thing is, it's like when guys realize they need muscles to get girls.

You'ev probably always had those bags or whatever you think you need make-up for, but you just started noticing them because you're getting wary about the way you look.

It's about age, but NOT about looking decent.  Just to make yourself feel like you're pretty.

    xx

  10. I was about nine-ten ish when i first started experimenting with make up; and i only really started to try it on because i'd seen my mum using it and i wanted to have a little go, but i'd never wear it out the house just because i simply wasn't that interested in it. when i was eleven and started secondry i started wearing eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss and sometimes a little bit of concealer because i thought it made me look better, and when i turned twelve and went into year eight i started wearing foundation because i'd got to a certain age where i'd expereminted and i'd like what i'd seen because i thought it gave coverage to all the spots that suddenly started appearing from nowhere haha. im now in year nine (well going into year ten) and i wear foundation, conceleaer, compressed powder, under eye gel, mascara, eyeliner, lipgloss, and an eyebrow pencil, but it all seems to look very natural, i think its vile the way girls plaster on makeup and it doesn't suit their skin tone at all. lately though, i've realised i dont actually need makeup, i just need a good skin routine. i do my spot gel, moisturiser, exfoliater, and under eye gel, and when i wake up i just put on mascara, (other days i do wear full makeup but its nice to let your skin breathe a little) and i think it doesnt really matter what age you start wearing it from its all for making yourself feel better, and not covering your natural beauty but just slightly enhancing it.

  11. i was 13 :]

  12. Umm, I really don't mean to sound full of myself. But I don't wear it. In school EVERYONE thinks that I wear make-up. When I wear NONE what so ever. Barely even wear lip gloss. I hope this lasts for a long time. But I'm sure you're a beautiful girl. Because make-up cannnot make a person beautiful. It can only ENHANCE whats already there.

  13. i'm 16 and i wear a little make up, but i think i look just fine without it.... so i guess i don't know the answer to your question

  14. about fourteen.

  15. makeup was made to make women look better

naturally all women are gorgeous if they want to be=]

makeup is just a crutch yes it makes women look better but all women can look equally as beautiful if they make an effort with their skin

  16. Definitely at some point in high school... It's sad but I feel better with make-up on than without

  17. i don't really wear much make up, and i try really hard to take care of myself, and my skin, so it doesn't get to the point where i don't want to look at myself in the morning w/o make up.

  23. I was 14. I started out just wearing eyeliner. And then I got into powder.. And then I guess it took off from there. But, I know I don't need makeup. I still go out in public sometimes with just some mascara on.
