  1. at this day n age  ??? are you serious?

when they are 18, and adult. Til then, they ride with mama bear!

  2. 10.

  3. 13 or 14

  4. i went on one from calif to n.y. and stops in between i was 11 and i rememeber it. i had an escort also.i dont have any kids but i would guess depending on their responsiblility they have

  5. 13 depending on their responsibility

  6. I flew alone for the first time at age 11. After that, I flew alone or with a sibling or cousin at least once a year.

I'm not sure that I would allow my son to do the same, he may have to wait until he's at least 13.

  7. I agree.

The way things are these days I can't picture myself walking my child upto a gate and letting them board a plane alone or even with a sibling a few years old than them.

If it was a class trip filled with adults then perhaps.

But if someone wanted to see my child that bad where they would have to fly to see them then they can drive those miles or catch their own plane.

  8. My sister and I flew by ourselves when she was 8 and I was 6.  It would depend on the circumstances, though.  In our case, it was a direct flight, my mother walked us right to the gate, where a flight attendant met us and walked us right to our seats, and when the plane landed, the flight attendant came to get us and walked us off the plane to bring us directly to our dad.  If there were flight changes, I would be hesitant to let my child fly unattended at such a young age, even though they are always accompanied by a parent or flight attendant.  Direct flights are more of a rarity nowadays, especially if you don't live in a hub city.

  9. The employees follow strict rules and take extra care of children flying alone. I would probably allow my 12 year old to fly alone or a 10 year old to fly with an older sibling of 14. IF, big IF they were both trustworthy to be responsible and not try to wonder off. If the child is still on the imature side and would be afraid, then I wouldnt force my child to fly alone no matter how old they got.
