I'm 31-year-old single female and it's time for me to have a child, except pregnancy is not really an option right now. So I'm looking at the adoption route. I would prefer a healthy infant. I'm looking at Holt International, simply because they are close to my home in Oregn, but I was wondering if there were other agencies I should consider. The option for singles seem limited. I do not think Holt makes up all the rules, but I was wondering if other agencies had other plans?

  1. Most adoption agency's really want 2 parents in the house it might make it harder on you. But here are a couple of sites to visit.

  2. Holt is a very good agency, I know of many families who've worked with them. Since they do international adoptions, most of the regulations are set by each individual country, and that will be the same with any international adoption agency. they also have a web forum where you can talk with other families in the process, and those who've adopted already.

If you decide on domestic adoption, I know that the "Independent Adoption Center" works with single parents hoping to adopt http://www.adoptionhelp.org/.
