  1. No, it isn't the FDIC.  It is the Federal Reserve System.

    In spite of the fact that most banks have an FDIC seal prominently displayed on or near their front door all the FDIC does is insure deposits.  (Stands for Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).

    The Federal Reserve System supervises and regulates banking in the United States.

  2. FDIC insures peoples up to 100K... but... if you listen to old people radio.. The Fed( Federal Reserve) is starting to regulate and step in on banks in distress... i guess its all the same though.... the man
