I was just wondering what is the highest air temperature that a human can withstand without dieing very quickly. I presume death would be by organ failure after burning / roasting / cooking.

Likewise what is the lowest that a person can stand without freezing to death.

I'm talking about almost instant death here by the way, if it takes a couple of hours then it aint hot / cold enough

  2. i'm asking also that question haha!

  3. Wildland firefighters caught in a burnover usually die from the damage that breathing very hot air does to their lungs.  Most humans would survive a dry heat of nearly 200 degrees F for a couple of hours.  Some have survived in a fire shelter that reached several hundred degrees inside, for a short time.  Wildland fire flames average around 1600 degrees F, and humans can't stand that without protection.

With adequate clothing, humans can survive for hours at nearly 100 degrees F below zero.  Hypothermia can kill quickly if enough bare skin is exposed to cold wind or water.  Apparently n**i experimentation determined that most die within 20 minutes.

  4. depends hoe fat we are... we need to keep a stable inside body temp at about 30 degress celcies..
