I fly hot air balloons and like the challenge of steering with the wind directions and of course the roar of the burners!

  1. I fly a Convair 580/5800.. I like the fact that some of the air traffic controllers don't know what we are when we pop up on their radar.. they just refer to us by our aircraft type designator (CLVT) when they are pointing us out to other nearby traffic

  2. comanche, super cub floats/skis, RV7 180HPconstant speed going to heli next  love flying

  3. I fly a 1979 Piper Cherokee Warrior II.  I like the fact that it's simple, relatively easy to maintain, and isn't trying to kill me. :)

  4. ^Kevin, where do you fly 580's out of?  I'd love to get up in an old bird like that.

  5. I've owned a Bonanza and a Baron. I'm currently flying a Jabiru J250-SP Light Sport Airplane. After flying from coast to coast in the Baron up in the flight levels, it's fun to fly an easy airplane down close to the ground, yet without giving up the cool avionics.

  6. I have always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon..   it sounds so exciting and the views from that high must be incredible!!

But... I am a chicken and my feet will probably never leave the ground.....  : )

I have problems just getting on the roof to clean out my gutters....lol

Reckon I am not very adventurous.

  7. 1975 Red and Aluminum Cessna 150.

    Cheap and reliable.

  8. I own a 1979 Cessna 172.

    Or rather, it owns me.

She is a great all around airplane, and gives me exactly what I need as far as airplanes go. She is affordable to operate, and maintenance does not beat me up too badly.

  9. I fly a Cessna 206.  I like that I get paid to fly it (and I don't have to pay for insurance, fuel, maintenance, etc).  Also that it has good performance in the mountains and on short strips while still being able to haul a half-ton of gear or fat tourists.

I hope to go in a balloon one day.  Don't see many around these parts.

  10. One of my type ratings is the CE-680 Citation Sovereign and I have logged time in it. It is my favorite to date. 5770 pounds of thrust per side, FADEC, full glass cockpit, including EICAS, and a great autopilot with full VNAV. Throttle back after clean-up most of the time to avoid exceeding speed limit during initial climb-out.

  11. steve, do you have a commercial pilot certificate with a balloon rating? I would love to log a couple ;of flights

    I fly a piper cherokee 180

WHAT I LIKE MOST....Its paid for. so is the 45smoh powerplant.
