Your question is on the London forum so I presume you are talking about airlines that serve the UK? So the answer refering to Southwest airlines isn't totally relevent.

Personally,

I ALWAYS fly with Delta to England.

Good service, good food.

Cathay Pacific have always been my favourite, and BA are good (planes are on time, but the on board service is a bit rubbish these days).

Try and stay away from Virgin.

Depends where you are . In UK the " cut price " air line  EasyJet is excellant for service and cost .

personally i think southwest is the best. low rates and wonderful service. they even have their own tv show(:

It depends if you are looking for cheapest or most comfortable.  Cheapest has got to be Easyjet or Ryanair (in UK) but most comfortable has to be British Airways and next to that British Midland.  Like everything else - you get what you pay for.
