Question:

What airlines give you aeroplan points?

Are there some airlines that allow you to collect aeroplan points, and other that don't? For example, if I book on Travelocity or another similar site, I can type in my aeroplan number, and collect points, regardless of the airline. But, if I book through the airline itself, and there's nowhere to put in the aeroplan number, does that mean that I can't earn them? (ie, I'm looking at www.jetblue.com right now). Or can I got to aeroplan later to request the mileage?

  1. Most airlines have a frequent flyer program.  Some don't.

Many airlines are in alliances (SkyTeam, OneWorld, and Star Alliance are the major ones) where if you fly on for instance British Airways, you can get the miles applied to your American Airlines account.  Or sometimes if an airline is not in an alliance, they will have agreements with certain other airlines.  But sometimes the miles are applicable at 50%, for instance if you have an account with United and fly 800 miles with them you get 800 miles, but maybe if you fly 800 miles with Air Canada you'll only get 400 miles with United for that.

I have never flown JetBlue so can't comment on them specifically but I'm pretty sure they have a program.
