I'm trying to fly to Worcester MA, but there don't seem to be any commercial airports in the city. What airport would I need to land to, and how far is the drive from there to Worcester MA?

  1. If you are getting a rental car, fly to Providence as it is an easy drive from TF Green to Worcester.  IF you will not have a car, fly to Boston and take the MBTA train to Worcester.  I am from Worcester and I don't know of anyone who goes to Hartford for flights.  It is too far and too costly.

  2. I live in Worcester. So the best airport is TF Green in Providence if you have a car or ride. If you don't have a ride then do Logan in Boston.

  3. If you feel like chartering a private plane you could get a flight right into worcester regional airport.  United used to fly there, but that was a long time ago.  If you can get on a train you can get off right downtown.  Amtrack goes right into worcester union station

  4. Worcester is about 45 miles to Boston and Providence so you can fly to either airport.  Few people would fly to Hartford since it isn't a major hub and the distance is further than Boston or Providence.  Also Worcester is on the commuter rail to Boston so you can take the train from Boston to Worcester.  10 trains a day.

  5. You would land in CT, its called Bradley International Airport which is actually located in Windsor Locks CT. They TELL you that its hartford/springfield (so when you look it up online, its gonna say that). Mapquest from Windsor Locks Connecticut into Worcester, MA - I know its not that far.

  6. TF Green in Providence, RI is another option.  It's a little over an hour drive away from Worcester.

  7. Bradley International in Windsor Locks, CT is perhaps your best bet to connect with I 91 and I 80 right into Worcester and avoid the mess in and around Boston. About 45 minute drive from Bradley to Worcester.

  8. Just fly into Boston. It's about 40 miles to Worcester, straight out on the Mass Pike (Route 90). The Pike gets pretty congested during rush hour, but if you're going midday, late evening or on the weekend it's fine.

If there's one good reason to fly into Boston, it's a much bigger airport. There are way more flights, more options, it's easier and generally cheaper to get a flight into Boston. Also there are tons of ground transportation options, so you don't have to drive to Worcester yourself if you don't want to.

  9. TF Green in Providence is definately your best bet. Logan airport in Boston is way too big and theres way too much traffic. You will get out of Providence quickly and wont face the nightmare traffic in Boston. Its about a half hour drive to Worcester.
