What all do I have to buy in order to start playing Yugioh?

Question

I used to play Yugioh all the time but after a few years of stopping, I can't remember ANYTHING about it...

In order to start playing again, what starter pack should I get...and do I HAVE to use a duel disk!? And does a game mat come with a starter

pack!?!?!

I'm completely lost here...

Also, I like more animal-like monsters...anything that's gonna interest a 15 year old girl who likes Thylacines, wolves, big cats and deer ^^;

That, and pretty much any shadow-y or darker looking monsters will do...

If nothing fits that, then I'll settle for a good starter pack that has a nice variety of reliable cards with a good balance of card types...monster, spell ect.

well, it's better to get a structure deck since they're better, and If I'm right the deck for you would be the dinosaurs rage structure deck since dinosaurs are animals and most of them are dark monsters. However, most stores that sell yu-gi-oh sell only the most recent structure deck, (right now is dark emperor which is a good deck too, and it has dark monsters,) and the dino deck is quite old, It would probably be easier to order it online. But It's better just to get a variety of decks instead of using a deck right away since there are some pretty bad cards too. This way, you don't have to use the bad cards you don't like in your deck. in fact, you should try to make a theme if you can, however themed decks take a long time to make good, which is why I don't have one yet so it's totally ok to use an unthemed deck.

   You don't need a duel disk, or even a  game mat in that matter to play, duel disks were invented so that you could play in the car or something. And all decks come with a game mat and rule book, so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

All you need is a starter deck. As for animals and darker looking monsters, the Gladiator Beasts might give you what you need, and they're pretty good in the metagame. The duel disks were in the anime and were produced for little eight year olds.

All you really need is a deck of cards (40-60 are the limitations). Typically, the starter decks or structure decks are ideal for new players. The starter decks are much older and much more out of date, while the structure decks are more up to date with better cards. A game mat and a rulebook come with each deck, and it's recommended that you buy sleeves so the cards don't get damaged.

You can buy structure decks online at various places, but below I have listed a source that I use to buy cards.

Hm.. All you really need is a deck of cards. If you buy a standard starter deck, it'd come with a set of rules, plus a duel mat to show you the card zones.
