What all do i need to drive out of state in a commercial vehicle?

i have a freightliner registered in calif. i also have motor carrier permit and MC# on truck . ialso have a EIN # , WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DRIVE WESTERN STATES ?

  1. As per Federal Regulations, you will need a US DOT #, a California IFTA License (International Fuel Tax Agreement), an apportioned registration (with the States listed that you plan on travelling in - *this only applies if your truck is over 26,000 lbs.), an Annual Inspection Sticker for your tractor & trailer (if applicable), and lettering denoting the name and address of the registered owner or leased operator.

    You as a driver will also have to have the appropriate CDL & endorsements, a medical card, and some way for an Officer to be able to check your driving hours. You will also have to have equipped in your truck/tractor: a fire extinguisher, 3 triangles, etc.
