  1. sweetie..Children developed differently..Rule # 1 we do not compare..milestones, yes ,as a gauge to basic development be it physical or mental.

Personally ..all we want in our children is that they are HEALTHY and HAPPY always.

Alright since you asked, my princess is 5 and she is reading Roald Dahl. She is doing Number Bonds,She plays the piano,She loves ballet. She is creative in her Art and Craft Lesson and guess what she cooks too.Besides the adult conversation  she is the voice of reasoning. She is also my fashion adviser. She is a very confident and brave young lady who even gave public speeches. She is a  high achiever by normal standard but to me  and her daddy..she will always be our little princess and nothing else in this World matters than to see her beautiful smile everyday for the rest of our lives.

  2. more then me. that's for sure

  3. I have 4 children , all girls ..20, 12 , 7 and 2. all have been different. The only one I remember at that age real well is the 7 yr old. She could recognize her letters , but struggled a bit in reading but was absolutely a whiz in math. She could count to 200 and add up to three digits. her computer skills were really advanced at 4. all in all I would say she was average for her age group with the exception of reading which she still struggles with.

  4. differential equations in his head, swedish, mandarin, and german ... let's see, C++, cobalt, a little javascript ... fixed the air conditioning in our lexus the other day, he was also talking about the duality of the human spirit, but I didn't really follow ...

  5. kids are smart as you

they just haven't seen as much as you yet.

    there are many theories..

get some books on child development from the library and books on teaching your child math and reading.

reading the same books over and over at bedtime helps them recognize words too.

preschool is very, very good if they can get in.

limit tv and more books fro an all around smarter kid.

  6. He knows how to hug me tight, kiss me right-these are the most important.

  7. my step son can count pretty good but has been reading for over a year on his own.  He has 2 older brothers one who loves to read  so i guess it is passed down.

  8. I dont have any kids but I was teaching my niece simple algebra at 5.  She would say okay do you know what is important its the sign its 2 of these 3 things.

I taught her basic algebra before 5.   She loved it.

She knew that 2x3 was 6.  But 2+3 was 5.  She didnt understand at 5 why that was an issue.

  9. My 3 year old knows all the letters and numbers (upper and lower case).  She can also do math puzzles, addition and subtraction, and some multiplication.  By the time she is 5, I hope she averages out.

Your 4 year old sounds right on track.  But it's not a competition!!!
