  1. What goes into a wedding depends on what you want out.

A wedding often gets out of control...

    Make it personal for you.

But, in someways, weddings are not just about the bride and groom

I would rather fail at the wedding and succeed at the marriage...

  3. www.theknot.com has a reception timeline that gives you an appoximate hour-by-hour breakdown of what is supposed to happen.  Generally, this is how a reception goes:

    Cocktail Hour

    First Dance

    Toasts

    Food(meal served)

    Dancing/Bouquet toss/any other fun stuff

    Cake Cutting

    More Dancing

    Last Dance

    Grand Exit

  4. CEREMONY

    COCKTAIL - RECEPTION

    INTRODUCTION

    BRIDE AND GROOM 1ST DANCE

    BRIDE AND FATHER DANCE

    GROOM AND MOTHER DANCE

    TOAST

    SALAD

    DANCING

    DINNER

    CAKE CUTTING

    GARTER AND BOUQUET TOSS

    DESERT

    AFTERPARTY

  5. If you have a DJ or a Banquet room host, They will let you and your guests know when things are going to happen, You should not have to worry about these things on the most important day of your life, Just enjoy yourself and it will all fall into place.  But it normally goes like this, Eat dinner, while guests are eating you cut the cake, Or the cake can be done right before dinner, When everyone is done eating , The dishes and some tables are cleared and the dancing begins, The Bridal dance is good to have about one hour into the dance part of the night, This is also a good time for garter and bouquet toss

  6. The reception order and list of events is totally up to you since everything at the reception is completely optional. There is no right or wrong answer.

  7. this varies by tradition and location. In my area it usually is wedding immediately followed by the reception.

At the reception the bridal party and couple are introduced, seated, the wedding toasts are offered, meal is served, dessert is served [not the wedding cake], then the bride and groom have their first dance. Sometimes the Bridal party dances afterwards, then the Bride dances with her father and then the groom with his mother. Then the rest of the guests are permitted to dance.

Then the bride and groom go around and greet and mingle with their guests and thank them for attending.  Then the cake is cut and served. Right before the end of the reception the bride changes into her traveling clothes if leaving for the honeymoon immediately, then they toss the bouquet and garter

If you are not having a formal sit down or buffet dinner sometimes the cutting of the cake and the first dance are at the beginning of the reception
