There are some nice places to eat up top and of course the observation deck.

there is the observation deck up on top of the space needle.

you can see a great view from there.

there are souvenir shops on top (observation deck) and on the ground level.

there is a rotating restaurant on the top  and one just above ground level

lots going on usually in the seattle center however.  The science Center,

the Food court, events like Labor Day's Bumbershoot are held on seattle center grounds.

ummmm... really expensive food (at least the last time I was there it was expensive) but it's really cool to look out the observation deck!

There is not much to do “inside” of the Space Needle.  For the most part, you take the elevator to the top to get a great view of the city and the surrounding area.  If you are in town, you should do it at least once in your life. There is a snack bar in the observation deck.

There is separate restaurant at the top as well.  The food is okay.  You’re paying for the experience.

The Space Needle is next door to the {Pacific Science Center}.  The [butterfly] exhibit is different.

The {Experience Music Museum} is next door too.  In that same building is the {Science Fiction Museum}.

What is really good is across the street from the Space Needle is tour operator which offers a really good city tour in a “duck” amphibious vehicle.  Bring a camera, because they do take you on a good tour with a lot of photo opportunities – including a tour on the lake.

It's pretty much a view of the metropolitan Seattle from way up there and nothing else...There's a revolving restaurant which is pricey and did i mention just to go to the observation deck is pricey too...A small gift shop and snack store are all available there
