What all kinds of plastics can I put in a bin outside Walmart labeled for plastic bottles and jugs?

I think it probably depends on the plastics your community recycles.  Most communities recycle at least #1 and #2 plastics (look at the number on the bottom of the product), but recyclable plastics are labeled #1-#7, so it's possible your community might recycle more than just those two numbers.  

    However, many lids for these plastic bottles and containers are not recyclable, so be sure to check before you chuck them in.  Also, there are restrictions against recycling certain containers such as medicine bottles.

    I would recommend checking on your city's website for more information about their recycling program, or with the individual Wal Mart store itself to find out more about the regulations.


  2. Usually they will label them by the number found in the chasing arrows sysmbol. That is the little triangle on the bottom of the bottle with a numer in it.

    If it isn't labeled you will have to ask someone. Every area is different so each store may have their own policy.

    Also try www.earth911.org to get information on other locations and which recyclables they will take.
