  1. To become a commercial pilot in the United States, you must have a valid private pilot's license and 250 hours of flight time.

To earn the PP license, you need to be at least age 17.

You also need flight training specific to the commercial license and pass both a written exam and a practical flight exam.

I don't believe there are any other age requirements.  However, until you are 18 (and perhaps quite a bit older) you may have quite a bit of trouble finding anyone who will actually pay you to fly for them.

  2. You must be 18 to apply for the US Commercial Pilot Certification.  Without inside connections, you will have trouble finding work at first, until you build some hours, by which time you will be older, anyway.

You must also have a Private Pilot Certification and at least 250 hours total flight time, unless you are training in an FAA-approved flight school under Part 141, which allows a total time of 180 hours.

Requirements are similar in other countries.  Consult your air ministry or a local flight school.  It isn't something you "join."  It is a certification issued by the government on the basis of demonstrated qualifications.

To be useful to anyone as a pilot, of course, you need your instrument rating and multi-engine rating.

For a complete run-down on all the details, try an internet search on "commercial pilot certificate."

  3. no requirements except medical and 18 years old.
