  1. *LESS* public transit and more individual transit that uses renewable fuel sources (unknown yet what that will be but you said 100 years :)

the history of Western civilization has been about extension of individual freedom and movement - when we travel individually, we are like packets on the internet. We share resources (roads, etc) to get to where we need to go without regard for where the other fellow is going, as long as we share basic protocols of driving safety.

Without that, our economy is regressing, not moving forward.

because our competitor nations (China, India, Indonesia) have multiple times our population and increased education rates, and we are not likely to increase our population enough to catch up, all infrastructure and other policy decisions must reflect the need to be faster and more efficient economically then anyone else.

We have that status now, and we can keep it over the next 100 years. But building more trains or bus routes over our vast territory while sacrificing our heritage *and* our current infrastructure is not going to solve any problems at all - it will only exacerbate them.

  2. Water supply and mass transportation.  I'm assuming your from India, I live in the U.S. . . . if we could rebuild any of our major cities those would be the two big issues.  I also think we would utilize alternative energy sources instead of coal/electric.

  3. The funds alloted to the government project must all be spent for the said project and not to be pocketted by officials so that the strength of materials in the infrstructure will last for many years.

  4. 1. Residential areas with proper building spaces

    2. Business areas

    3. Good public transport system

    4. Good roads with tree cover and foot paths

    5. Lots of open recreational areas.

    6. Predefined plots for future growth

    7. Phased growth

    8. Good parking system and traffic flow.

    9. Good drainage system that can also generate bio-fuels and recycle water

    10. Proper Energy planning and maximum support for using Solar energy as well as other non-conventional energy.
